EXHIBITION
Lympstone Art Group is once again preparing for this years Summer
Exhibition, which is open to the public from Friday July 28 to Sunday
August 6 in the Function Room of the Village Hall between 10am til 6pm
(4pm on final day). 2006 sees the first exhibition chaired by Jenny de la
Haye, with judging by Wendy Jones and the raffle painting kindly donated
by Monique Cheshire part of the proceeds going to
Lympstone@Play. The
paintings at the exhibition are mainly for sale, ranging from traditional
landscapes to modern panelled artwork. Admission 50p.
BACKGROUND

In 1990 the late Alison Ledley-Brown with
some of her friends & other artists in the area decided to form an Art
Group in the village. A constitution was drawn up and the first AGM was
held on October 14th 1992.
The object of the Group was and still is,
to promote the practice and appreciation of the visual arts especially
painting and drawing. Also to hold exhibitions of Members' original art
work together with other related
activities.
The membership is limited to 75 in order to ensure that all submitted
paintings can be hung and effectively displayed. Membership is £6 per year.
The group organises sketching days and demonstrations, sending out
newsletters to keep members informed. The yearly membership fee
