LYMPSTONE PARISH COUNCIL
HERALD NOTES
Out with the old – in with the new
As the new recently appointed Clerk to Lympstone Parish Council, I hope you will forgive the odd, or perhaps I should say, more than odd mistake – error – oversight that I am likely to make. I know I will commit a few errors but I will try and keep them to a minimum, as I strive to overcome a “steep learning curve” as I learn about Local Government.
Anyway enough about me…..
Another New Face
I have no doubt that the majority of you know one or more of your parish councillors. However one name that may not be known is that of Simon ROBSHAW. He is a “young, good looking” local person (not my words!).
Owing to a vacancy being caused by the resignation of Mrs HUMPHRIES, Simon was co-opted on to the Council at the most recent meeting. He is a local business man whose family has long ties with the village.
More wood than trees
Even though I have a more urban history than a rural background, I am still fascinated by the countryside, and in particular trees. You may or may not be aware that there is something called a “Free Tree Scheme” in operation.
The local tree warden Mr TYRELL is our Co-ordinator and I understand so far under the scheme, some 1500 trees have been ordered and planted.
I am not sure of the new location of these trees, nevertheless I feel it is a worthwhile project and does a lot to enhance the village. So if you want to see more trees, contact Mr TYRELL for all the relevant information.
Finally
Do not forget that all the Parish Council and Planning Committee meetings are advertised on the various notice boards located around the Parish. If you care about or wonder what is happening to your village – then come to these meetings and find out. Should you need to contact me, then you can do so on 01395 267 871, (phone and fax), or on email (which I am still learning) – rogersart@lympstone
