BT WANT TO TAKE PAYPHONES OUT OF OUR COMMUNITIES At the Parish Council meeting on Monday night, it was reported that East Devon District Council had been consulted on a review of payphones in the communities of Lympstone. BT wish to remove 83 phone boxes from across Devon. Of these is the one in Trafalgar Road and the one by the Saddlers Arms is ‘NOT PLANNED FOR REMOVAL AT THIS STAGE’ We know that mobile phone coverage in Lympstone is patchy. If you have had problems, it is important that you let East Devon District Council know. We also know that in the Trafalgar Road area, there will be many people without a mobile phone who need access to a payphone. If you are one of these, again it is important to let East Devon District Council know so that they can include this in their objection. They need facts to back this up. Please write to Kate Little, Head of Planning and Countryside Services, Knowle, Sidmouth or telephone (if you can!) 516551, Extension 2735 Tony le Riche, Clerk |
