LYMPSTONE PARISH COUNCIL HERALD NOTES – July 2004 FROM THE JULY COUNCIL MEETING VILLAGE DESIGN STATEMENT Harland Walshaw gave an update on the latest version (No 4) of the Village Design Statement. After debate it was agreed that the Parish Council would not vote on it’s acceptance immediately but give people time to consider it and vote in September. The updated version of the VDS is available on the www.Lympstone.org web site along with the last two years of the Lympstone Herald and all the usual background information. POLICE COVERAGE WPC Sycamore (07736087387 but still 999 for immediate assistance) introduced herself and answered many questions about police coverage of the Lympstone area for which she is now responsible. Assisting her in this is Police Community Support Officer Stuart Penny. AFFORDABLE HOMES Progress is being made in the possible construction of more expensive homes in the village resulting in the probable release of land for more affordable homes. The 21st of July is a key date when officers from East Devon are coming to hear our presentation. If you are interested in affordable housing then you are welcome to come and observe this meeting. If you intend filling in an East Devon form showing an interest then PLEASE get a form completed and returned to them before this date. DEVON IN TOUCH Following a very successful visit from Devon County Council’s ‘Devon in Touch Road Show” last year, a further visit is planned, probably 2pm until 7pm on Friday the 17th of September. The Swan Inn has given permission for the van to be on their car park and all will be welcome to come in see the new technology that the van contains or to learn more about Devon County Council services. In addition there will (hopefully) be Radio Devon broadcasting live for some of the time from this site. If you want a special invitation to join in what should be a very exciting day then book a place (ring 274104) or just drop in as you are passing. Cllr Chris Carte |
