LYPS AGM The First AGM will be held in the Youth Club hut on Tuesday 12th July at 7.30 pm. The Parish Council hopes to hand over the running of the Youth Club activities to a management committee of parents and interested parties. Parents and the youth of the village are particularly invited to attend to find out what has been achieved so far and what we hope to achieve. If you are interested in volunteering for the committee, and would like to know more, please ring Jane Moffatt on 279952 or Jenny Clark on 274292 PUBLIC CONVENIENCES East Devon has again said that it is about to close our public conveniences. At the Parish Council meeting it was agreed that we should try to keep them open although nobody wanted to add their costs to the rates. Cllr Atkins is still trying to negotiate with East Devon DC to keep them open – possibly for reduced hours. We had a few letters three months ago when this first came up but David needs more to support our arguments. Send your views on this matter as soon as possible, please, to Cllr D Atkins or myself or the Parish Clerk. Cllr Carter (contact details on next page) Exmouth Rotary and Lympstone Band Concert The above have kindly volunteered to organise a concert to raise money for the LYPS youth Club. This will be held in Lympstone Parish Church on June 17th at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £3 and can be purchased at the post office or on the door. There will also be a barbeque at the Saddlers Arms immediately after the concert and this will cost £3.50 per person. The children of Lympstone Primary School will also be taking part and the concert looks like it will be a wonderful event. Please come and support them all if you can 1 THE EDITOR Another very full Herald – sorry if you did not make it into print or were cut. No Tidal Defence Scheme newsletter this month.
