NOW FRIDAY 17th Sept 2 -7pm

Come and see what is parked outside The Swan Inn if you are interested in The Internet, what Devon CC has to offer or wish to talk to Radio Devon.

LYMPETS

In the centre pages of this issue you will find details of a survey being done this month.  People are calling at ever house in the village. Please help by getting a form completed for any current or ex-Lympstonians that would like to live in Lympstone but cannot because of the lack of affordable housing in the village. Completing one of these forms will not take long and you can help filling it in if you need it. Without affordable housing Lympstone will lose it’s young folk who will have to leave the village when they leave home. The Lympets have already got the Parish Council’s support. Filling in these forms – identifying the ‘need’ in the village - should result in them getting support from others, starting with East Devon District Council.

 GRASSROOTS ENVIRON -MENTAL GRANTS SCHEME

This exists to enable individuals, community groups, parish councils and schools to carry out projects to enhance their local environment. In order to help promote this scheme, the Countryside Service has recently produced a new leaflet, which is available from parish councils and local libraries and can be downloaded from the EDDC website - www.eastdevon.gov.uk/countryside. Advice support and grants of up to £500 are available from the Grassroots scheme to enable local people to undertake suitable projects including hedgerow restoration, improvements to wildlife sites and environmental education and interpretation projects.  If you have any ideas you would like to discuss further please contact  a Countryside Officer on 517557 countryside@eastdevon.gov.uk

VILLAGE DESIGN STATEMENT

After much discussion and a few word changes, the Parish Council unanimously accepted this statement and thanked Harland Walshaw and his committee for the work they have done preparing it.
