ITEMS OF NOTE From the Parish Council Meeting of the 3rd of October FLOOD DEFENCES The current work on the sea flood defences is expected to finish on the 4th of November according to an Environmental Agency representative. (See elsewhere for a full report). PLANNING COMMITTEE It was thought that insufficient weight was being given to Planning Committee decisions by East Devon District Council. A letter to this effect is to be sent to the Head of Planning and Countryside Services, Mrs Kate Little. PUBLIC CONVENIENCES The handover of the public conveniences to Lympstone Parish Council control is proceeding. A person to open and control them and keep them clean is required. YOUTH CLUB A new constitution for the Youth Club was accepted and signed. Figures for attendance on a Friday night at the youth club surged back to 35 after the summer holidays. SANDBAGS Whilst the Parish Council has not made provision for their storage, anyone in the village who would like to keep some should contact the Parish Clerk or any member of the Council so that a consolidated request can be made to East Devon District Council. GRASS CUTTING All grass cutting contracts are up for renewal. Anyone interested in quoting for grass cutting contracts in Lympstone should contact the Parish Clerk on Tel 279665 or 07866 535580. LYMPSTONE HERALD CONTENTS A public meeting is to be held to discuss the contents of the Herald. BURIAL GROUND COMMITTEE REPORT To meet Health and Safety guidelines, all gravestones will have to be checked to make sure they are not in danger of toppling over. The route for the new path is to be discussed. A composting enclosure is to be investigated. A new tree is to be donated. A Cedar will be planted in the eastern hedge.
