Lympstone. org _______________________________________________________________________________ ITEMS OF NOTE From the Parish Council Meeting of the 7th of November PUBLIC MEETING At 7pm on Monday the 21st of November there will be a meeting in the Village Hall to which all are invited. The earlier part of the meeting will be to discuss the contents of the Lympstone Herald. The second part will be a discussion on the developments of the riverside site in Exmouth with the options of a major new supermarket, a smaller supermarket or no change. A Planning Committee meeting will finish the evening. NEW VILLAGE POLICEMAN PC Toby Fleming has taken over at Lympstone (and a dozen other villages). At the Parish Council meeting he said that after a few days grace when he has been sticking warning notices on cars parked illegally, £30 fine notices will soon be put on cars parking on yellow lines. LYMPSTONE TOILETS From the first of November the running of the public conveniences in the village has been passed to Lympstone although no formal arrangements have been made as yet for their opening or closure (more details next month) and the Chairman of the Parish Council is currently doing the job and interviewing candidates! ACCESS TO THE GREEN SLIPWAY Key for the central post blocking access to the Green will be held at the Post Office. RAIL CLOSURE Our railway link to Exeter and Exmouth is to be closed for one week early next year. A strong case is being made for a replacement bus service to run through the centre of Lympstone. FREE BUS PASSES FOR ALL OVER 60 The government has decided that this will happen from April next year and has given Devon CC some of the money it requires to meet the cost. YOUTH CLUB LEADER WANTED One assistant leader for every Friday and one leader for alternate Fridays. Training can be given.
