PAGE 3 Lympstone@Play We are grateful to Jo at the Saddlers Arms for running a quiz night for us. We raised the magnificent sum of £100. We have also been given a £5000 grant by The Local Network Fund to buy a swing to put in the youth area. This will be the same as the one in the toddler area, but will be for the teenagers to play on. We have also had confirmation that a grant from the Leonard Leity Stoate Trust can be used to fund the installation of the Youth shelter. This should all be installed in December, weather permitting. Jane Moffatt Tsunami Folk Night It was standing room only at a well-supported charity folk night in The Globe’s restaurant on 18th October. A varied line-up of local performers helped raise £500 for the Agape Orphanage, which is near the Sri Lankan fishing village for which Lympstone has been fund-raising since the tsunami. Lympstone Folk hope to perform again for charity in the village. Lympstone MummersThe traditional Lympstone Mummers’ Play, revived last year, will be performed in the village again this Christmas. Directed by Harland Walshaw, King George and his foes will clash swords from pub to pub, probably on Monday 18th December. Anyone interested in joining the Mummers, or hosting the play, should contact Tony Day on 268653. First Great Western Customer PanelTony Day, who is Customer Panel Representative for the Exmouth Branch Line, would like to hear views from people who use the railway. Matters he has so far raised with First Great Western include the rolling stock on the line, arrangements for bus substitution whilst the line is closed for engineering work, and peak hour passenger congestion at Exeter Central. Tony plans to report back to interested passengers by email – anyone wanting to receive feedback or give their views should contact
