LYMPSTONE COMPOST
A big thank you to the members of the WI who obtained a small grant from
Yorkshire Tea for the benefit of Lympstone Compost. This will help towards
funding the paid workers at the compost site. At the recent WI meeting the
chairman of Lympstone Compost was presented with the cheque after which, at
the request of one of the members, she outlined the history of community
composting in Lympstone. She was then thanked by the members for all the
hard work she and the composting volunteers do for the village.
Also, we would like to thank
all those who have subscribed for the 2008 season resulting in another year
of composting for the parish.
Some of those who purchase compost and/or mulch ask what they should do with
the resultant empty bags. These bags can be tied up in a bundle and put out
for collection with your or a neighbour's garden waste on a Wednesday. Or,
they can be recycled yet again and used instead of bin liners for other
rubbish!
