ITEMS OF NOTE from the Parish Council May Meeting and the Annual meeting of the Parish Council held 12th May 2008. Cllr Peter Acca was elected Chairman of the Parish Council for a second year of office. Cllr Jane Moffatt had informed Peter that she did not wish to stand as Vice Chairman again due to other commitments. I think many people know how much Jane is involved in Village activities and how much effort she gives to each one. Jane has been a very worthy Vice Chairman. Cllr Rob Longhurst was elected Vice Chairman. A fresh list of members and their Committees will be posted on the Parish Council notice boards soon. If you don't know where your nearest one is, please ask your Parish Councillor or contact Tony, the Clerk. Councillor Surgeries will continue this year. The next one is on Saturday 19th May 2008 in the Village Hall. A full list for the year will be published on the Notice boards. Exe Estuary Cycle Way - Lympstone to Exton. District Councillor Ben Ingham has reported that this scheme is now out for observation of interested parties. Planning Permission has already been granted and so I assume that this is now seeking views on the details of the route. This section will have a great effect on Lympstone. For further details, please contact Mr Roger North, Parsons Brinkerhof, Carnegie House, Western Way, Exeter, EX1 2DB tel 01392 229700, (the County Council's Consultants). Affordable Housing is still on the Agenda for the Village. There was a very good article in the Saturday Times magazine last week. A Survey Questionnaire was circulated with the Lympstone Herald last month. If you have not sent your reply in please do so without delay
Clerk to the Council: A J Le Riche, DMS, 43 Salisbury Road, Exmouth, EX8 1SL, Tel 279665/ 07866 535580 lympstonepc@leriche6.wanadoo _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ TONY DOVER Tony (Parish Councillor and Chairman of the Planning Committee) died on the 29th of April after a short illness. Tony was Chairman of Lympstone’s Planning Committee for two years and during that time, handled the Parish Council's response to planning applications for the two major developments, the Cycle Way and the housing development of St Mary's Meadow. Latterly Tony followed the activities of our Parish Council through the internet and www.lympstone.org website and was always keen to see what was happening in the village. Unfortunately, his deteriorating eye sight prevented him from continuing council work in Cornwall where he moved in 2006 but he involved himself with other voluntary work. His wife, Jane Dover, can be contacted on 01872 2238. RAY SLATE Mollie and family would like to thank most sincerely all their friends for their many kindnesses and support during the past months, and more recently in their sad loss last month. It has helped us so much. Editor: Chris Carter, Hillcrest, Greenhill Ave, Tel 274104.
