LYMPSTONE PARISH COUNCIL

HERALD NOTES

HERALD NOTES - JULY 2003

A BIG THANK YOU TO THE ROYAL MARINES FROM LYMPSTONE

How many of you saw the Royal Marines on the Church Tower repairing the weather-vane in the morning of Thursday 12 June?

This would have been a very expensive and difficult task for the Church had the Royal Marines not risen to the challenge.  Next time you pass the Church you will be able to see the true direction of the wind.

Vacancy for Lympstone Parish Council Clerk

After eight happy years I have decided that it is time for a change and I have resigned as the Clerk to the Parish Council.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the councillors past and present and all my friends and associates in the village for your kindness and support during my time as Clerk.

If you are interested in becoming the Clerk to the Parish Council please contact me (not during August) or the Chairman, Richard Eastley.

This is a paid job that involves the clerical work necessary to support the decisions made by the Parish Council and financial responsibility for the Parish Council’s budget.

Peter Wearn 1929 - 2003

The Parish Council was very sad to hear of the death of Peter Wearn.  Peter had been a parish councillor for many years and served as Chairman of the Parish Council during the 1980s.  His wife Margaret, his children and all his friends in Lympstone, will sadly miss Peter.
