LYMPSTONE PARISH COUNCIL HERALD NOTES
HERALD NOTES - JUNE 2003
HAWTHORN TREE
The Parish Council has received a request to remove the dead Hawthorn Tree at the entrance to The Avenue and replace it with a new Pink Hawthorn Tree. If you would be interested in tendering for this work please phone me.
RING AND RIDE/EXMOUTH AND COMMUNITY TRANSPORT GROUP
Each year the Parish Council supports this excellent scheme with a grant towards running costs. The scheme makes transport arrangements for disabled and elderly people who can, if they wish, take a friend. The first pick up is at 9.45am at your door and the return at 1pm. Fare £2.50 return. Phone Wendy Passmore on 26 66 62 between 10 -12 and 1 - 3 Monday to Friday. The service is available in Lympstone on Mondays to Exmouth, Tuesdays and Thursdays to Tesco, and on Wednesdays. There are also day excursion to Exeter, Newton Abbot or Sidmouth, fare £4.30 return. Please use this service which is supported by the Parish Council.
PLANNING The Parish Council has agreed to trial a new planning procedure. Perhaps it is not generally known that the Parish Council is very anxious to hear people's views about planning applications which might be made. Comments have to go to the East Devon District Council within three weeks of applications being submitted, this is a very tight time scale. It helps the Parish Council to form a view if members know how people feel about individual applications. An agenda with a list of all applications to be discussed by the Parish Council is placed on all six notice boards around the village. Members of the public are, of course, welcome at all Council meetings and you will have an opportunity to speak. Meetings are usually held on the first Monday of each month with mid month meetings as necessary; see the notice boards for details.
