FROM THE EDITOR

OPTIMA GRAPHICS

A big welcome to our new printers (who also fold and insert our pages so perhaps they should be called producers) who took over at very short notice.  I found them on the 11th of May when David Atkins, who had been looking for new printers for three weeks, was going to tell the Council the bad news on the following day.  Optima also prefer to receive their copy by Email and produce to an exact schedule – easing life for both Jill Newton and myself.

BROADBAND

Last months note on this subject brought two more pleas for help in getting BT to comply and yet another user saying how he had just had it installed and wasn’t it wonderful!  I hope to be talking to BT about this in a few days time.

APOLOGIES IF YOUR PIECE

IS NOT HERE – there is just have too much to print.

The reason is simple – there is just insufficient space in our Herald to publish everything I am sent.

Every month I have to reject a number of articles and précis others. Usually those left out are those of less interest to the majority of readers, for example, thank-you letter.  Sorry, but I do try to be fair.  The last couple of months it had to be recipes (2 complaints about this) and a couple of minor current interest pieces. Plus, I had written a piece about the great work done in training people (16 of whom have just received RYA certificates) by Don Jellard of the Sailing Club. This item also went on the spike last month.

Please understand that I cannot include all contributions
