EDITOR’S
NOTES
DUSTBINS
Much of the rubbish on New Road and similar
windy places in the village comes from dustbins that are put out without
lids. Please think before you put your bin out. I know our bin men are not
angels but you cannot expect them to chase every plastic bag which escapes.
Right now, at the end of winter, many hedges are full of windblown rubbish
which is easily seen due to the absence of leaves. Why not clean up those
nearest to your home.

Age
Concern Exmouth and District – Lympstone Project
After almost a year as a
Village Development Officer in Lympstone, I am glad that there have been
some positive results.
* Two successful computer
courses (attended by a total of 20 people, 5 of whom attended both courses).
* Churchill Court, the
number of people attending the weekly Coffee/Quiz morning has risen from 5
to 15.
|
* Friends
of Underhill Surgery Patient Support Scheme
Over 50 people volunteered
to help. Further details will be included in the next edition of The
Lympstone Herald.
Overall, I hope that the
profile of Age Concern Exmouth and District has been raised. The Charity
exists to respond to the needs of older people. If you need help in the
future, do not hesitate to contact the office in Exmouth on 01395 271242.
Finally, I would like to
thank everyone who has helped me during this time. I could not have
undertaken my work without the friendly support I have received.

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
The sponsored Knit-In and lunch in aid of
the Children’s Hospice raised over £300.
All our usual activities continue plus a
demonstration by Robbie Eyre on the 20th of March on how to bone
and stuff a chicken.
WI meetings are held on the first Wednesday
of each month in the Village Hall at 2.30pm. At the next Mr Don Ekless’s
talk is the Antiques Roadshow. New members will be made very welcome.
