THE BUDAPEST CAFÉ ORCHESTRA Sunday, 29th April 7.30pm in the Village Hall “The finest purveyors of Balkan music this side of a Lada scrap heap” Many people remember the performance by the Budapest Café Orchestra as the most exciting evening ever presented by Lympstone Entertainments. We are thrilled to have negotiated their return five years later. Led by jazz violin superstar Christian Garrick, they play traditional folk and gypsy flavoured music from across the Balkans and Russia – Klezmer, Romanian Doinas, Hungarian Czadas and beautiful ballads such as the theme to Schindler’s List and Waltz Lacrimoso. Evoking vivid images of Budapest café life and gypsy campfires – with a few surprises along the way – it’s good enough to make you want to book a holiday along the Danube! “The music is magic in their hands” Sean Rafferty, BBC Radio 3 Tickets for all Lympstone Entertainments events will be available, as usual, from Demelza on 01395 272243 or via boxoffice@lympstone-entertainments.net |
