Furry Dance

Furry Dance – August 1st 2015 – 11 am to 5.30 pm
The programme will be similar to last year. Timings are as follows;
09.30 Road closure between the hairdressers and the new coffee shop (old post office) for setting up the Pannier Market stalls.
10.30 W.I.open for a full day of serving coffee, Ploughman’s lunches followed by tea and cakes in the Methodist Hall.
10.45 Boney Stone’s Memorial Football Match kicks off on the Cliff Field.
11.00 Pannier Market opens. New for this year will be a Punch and Judy and strolling magician, times to be advertised in our full programme leaflet.
11.30 Dog show registration opens on the slipway at the Boat Shelter.
12.00 Fun Dog Show judging starts on the slipway at the Boat Shelter.
12.30 The Band plays on The Green.
13.45 Fancy Dress judging on the Cliff Field with our new class for group entries of four or more.
14.00 to 18.00 Village road closed from Saddlers Arms to Highcliffe Close. No access to Underhill car park. Parking available in the Avenue Field all day (access from Bergmanns Hill). 15.30 Furry Dance starts from the end of The Strand, between Quay Lane and Pump Lane. Dancers line up on the hill in sets of four, behind the Band. After the dance has passed through, the stalls, music and entertainment for all ages will continue in the heart of the village including Morris Men and The Memory Lane Singers.
17.00 Dancers return to the village centre and the Band leads the dancers along The Strand, terminating where it began. Announcement of the best fancy dress dancers and the raffle winners concludes the proceedings.
18.00 Road closure ends.
Details of the Fancy Dress and Dog Show classes will be publicised in our full programme leaflet to be circulated through local village outlets very soon. Food and refreshments will be available throughout from the village pubs, the new coffee shop, the Good Game stall and Jason’s sea food.
