SSAFA the Armed Forces Charity, is running a project entitled 100 Hearts for 100 years, replicating sweetheart pin cushions, convalescing soldiers made to send home to there sweethearts and families.

I was asked to attend a day at Hampton Court Palace with the Royal Collage of Needlework (RSN) where I and others made hearts for this occasion.   This was the first form of occupational  therapy. They were made with regimental felt, buttons and badges.

SSAFA is the oldest military charity in UK, it has been in existence for 130years.

What a fabulous day I had, met some wonderful people and a very moving thing to do.

The exhibition will run in Nov 2016 at Salisbury Cathedral.
