Diamond Jubilee textiles project

Diamond Jubilee textiles project

The Parish Council is keen to support a textile project that will commemorate the Queen’s Jubilee in June this year.

The aim is to produce an item such as a quilt or illustrations in fabric that can be exhibited in the Village Hall during the week 3 – 10 June, which is the school half term.

Quilters, embroiderers, and anyone interested in textile crafts are all invited to contact Pat or Jenny (details below). You will then be invited to attend a meeting in early February.

In addition we would like to hear from individuals or societies within the village that have a ‘then and now’ story that could be included in the project. Ideas can include details and visual changes to business premises, housing developments such as Underhill and personal stories of changes over the past 60 years from fishermen, farmers and anyone with a story to tell. This is your chance, so do make contact!
