Independent examiner needed for village hall

Independent examiner needed for village hall

As a charity, the Village Hall has a legal duty to ensure that its accounts are independently examined each year in accordance with the laws and rules that govern all charities.

Following the resignation of Neil Curtis, the Hall’s Management Committee wish to appoint an individual to be the new independent examiner. The hall’s financial year ends on 31st December, so we seek to appoint soon to allow for familiarisation before our year end.

As a charity, we seek to minimise our costs (Neil Curtis performed this service on a pro bono basis), but may agree a modest annual fee.

The individual should have a suitable professional accounting qualification and knowledge of current charity finance law and procedures.

If you are interested, please contact Don Mildenhall (Chair of the Management Committee) on 01395 260500 for an initial discussion.
