Jubilee Weekend

Jubilee Weekend

What a wonderful weekend! Celebrated in true Lympstone Style – fun but not over the top!
The weather was not a problem just a minor irritant to get over!
Sunday lunch in Candy’s Field was a local affair and all dressed the part (including Pat’s dogs) – and the music played on.
To add to proceedings the Olympic Torch arrived on Monday am – to be carried by local children to the Saddlers and back.
Monday evening was the “piece de résistance” – the bonfire and fireworks on Cliff Field – what a lovely feeling it was – local but with aplomb!! Since the bonfire was lit from the Olympic Torch was the bonfire the “biggest olympic torch in history”?? And what a firework display – GREAT!!
To the many people who made it all possible a BIG “THANK YOU” – Pete Acca (the band was a masterpiece), Mo and Pete Conibere for Candy’s picnic and Andy Love (who so often seems to come to help when a digger is needed) and to all the others who contributed but I am not aware of – THANK YOU.
It truly was Lympstone at its finest.
Postcards of the weekend are available in the Post Office – but only 250!
Well done to all and a BIG THANK YOU to all who participated –
Lympstone – where we do it right.
