Otter Rotters collections come to Lympstone

A community composting group is celebrating 15 years of collecting garden waste by bringing its service to Lympstone.

A not-for-profit enterprise, the Otter Rotters will be collecting garden waste on alternate Tuesdays throughout the season, with the first on Tuesday, March 31.

Otter Rotters bags and tags can now be purchased at the village’s Central Stores for people to fill with their garden waste.

Group director Mandy Jennings said: “We are delighted to be able to re-introduce rounds to Lympstone in a year where we are celebrating the invaluable contribution volunteers make to the communities of East Devon.”

Anyone is welcome to use the scheme, either on a regular basis or as special ‘one-off’.

The garden waste is composted and redistributed to the community where it is donated to local schools and food growing projects.
