Parish church – good news!

The Bishop and Team Rector are pleased to announce that, subject to the completion of the statutory formalities, the Revd Benedict Cambridge has accepted the post of Team Vicar in the Littleham-cum-Exmouth-with-Lympstone Mission Community.  The Revd Benedict Cambridge is currently Senior Chaplin of Staffordshire University.

The date he will be able to take up the appointment will be announced later. He and his young family will live in Littleham, but will spend time here in Lympstone.

Last year, at this time, I wrote that the West End re-ordering was almost finished. Since then we have benefited from using the area, which provides a large flexible space. It has been used for overflow seating, a comfortable place during the service for families with prams and pushchairs, meetings, a quiz night and more (see below).

Winter Party Games Evening 28th January from 6.30 to 9.30 pm.

A fun evening for all ages including games such as Scrabble, Draughts, Dominoes, Snakes and Ladders, plus a few others. Plan your team strategies early! Names of teams, (six or more if possible) to Richard Bound before 23rd January. Come and support your team if you are not a games participant. There will be a prize for the best winter hat! Refreshments will be available.

Alpha Course

Alpha is a low pressure, fun and informative course. It is a place to relax, share your thoughts and explore the meaning of life through a Christian perspective. If you are interested in participating, helping with the course or know of any interested persons, please see Graham Pearson. The proposed start date will be at the end of January on Mondays running for 10 weeks. (Venue to be confirmed depending on numbers.)

Morning Praise

The third Sunday of the month is Morning Praise the ‘everybody’, service so, if you missed it (15th January), 19th February is the next one. The Service begins at 10am following coffee and croissants from 9.30am.

The ‘Service with no name’ is held at Holy Trinity Church in Exmouth. The worship band from Lympstone will play. After about 20 of these services we have yet to hear the same speaker twice unless you count Bishop Bob. The time is early evening, 7pm on the first Sunday of the month.. There are usually some nibbles after the worship to allow everyone to get to know each other. Make a date for the 5th February.

For all other church related notices look at boards in church or under the railway arch.
