The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee

The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee

The government has announced that there will be a “nationwide celebration” to mark The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, in 2012. Events to mark The Queen’s 60 years on the throne will take place in the first weekend of June 2012, with an extra bank holiday being created. This will be a “truly historic occasion” which would allow the British people to show their “pride and affection” for The Queen.

The Parish Council will take the initiative on behalf of the whole Parish in organising and co-ordinating events. Discussions will start at the next meeting, on 20th June 2011. The Parish Council will need help in making this a Village-wide event. If you would like to be involved or have ideas for celebrating this occasions, please come along to the meeting or contact a Parish Councillor.
