Rob Longhurst – Woodturner
I was born in Coleford, Devon about 3 miles from Crediton in 1951. I moved to Ottery St. Mary and was educated at Blundell’s School, Tiverton, where I learned woodturning from a Mr Fisher. I perhaps spent too much time in the workshops and did not do too well academically!
Sue Paterson – Artist
Having completed a Degree in Fine Art in the 80s I have recently returned to painting and held my first exhibition this September as part of the Devon Open Studios event.
Living in the picturesque fishing village, Lympstone in Devon affords me spectacular inspiration.
With a love of the coastline and shore-side and the vibrant colours of the estuary, everyday I am lucky enough to have an ever changing view of the Estuary, the harbour, moored boats and the ever inspirational traditional washing lines. After working on studies and sketches I return to my studio to work mainly with acrylic, watercolour and pastel, producing the final pieces.
