World War 1 Service and Memorial

Lympstone commemorates the declaration of World War 1

A World War 1 Service and Memorial will be held on Monday 4th August beginning at 7.30 pm by the War Memorial, followed by a service in church. There will be a procession through the village to The Strand led by Revd Sid. The evening ends with a wreath, created earlier during the service, being cast on the water from a rowing boat on the river, followed by the Last Post along with a piper playing period music.

7.30 pm: Meet at the War Memorial

7.45 pm: Church Service

8.30 pm: Procession through village

9.40pm: Candlelit procession – the Globe to the foreshore

9.50 pm: Wreath ceremony

10.00 pm: Last Post
