Autumn Clean-Up Exmouth Reserve

September 14, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Exe Estuary Reserve Autumn Clean-Up with the Exe Estuary Partnership – Saturday 14th September

A few places have become available for our Autumn Clean-Up event taking place this Saturday 14th September at 1pm to 3pm at Exmouth Local Nature Reserve.

The limited places are to secure tickets for the free Krispies Fish & Chips lunch aboard the free cruise of the estuary courtesy of Stuart Line Cruises  with ACE Music jazz band playing on board.
BOOKING ESSENTIAL: Places are limited, so book your place online at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/exe-autumn-clean-up-2019-tickets-64424077149

Once these places are fully booked, for those that would like to join us for the Clean-Up only, everyone is welcome to join in – just turn up on the day. Any spare tickets for the food and cruise will be handed out to those that don’t have tickets after the Clean-Up.

If you are no longer able to go, please make sure you cancel your tickets, so others can book a place.

Meeting Point: Imperial Recreation Ground Slipway from 12pm – refreshments supplied by McDonald’s.
Travel: Parking will be pay and display at this event, please use public transport if possible.
Equipment: Some gloves and a limited amount of equipment is provided, but please bring your own if you have them. Wear sensible clothing and footwear such as wellies or old trainers, and bring sun cream just in case! Bring a bucket if you have one, to help transport rubbish and glass back to shore.
Handwashing facilities are available at nearby toilets, but we advise to bring antibacterial hand wash to use before eating and drinking.
Families are welcome, as are friendly dogs on leads; children must be accompanied by an adult.

A map of the area can be found here: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Exmouth+Rugby+Club/@50.6205288,-3.41939,17z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x486d0a99bf67f243:0x983639b10d3ab1ff – follow The Royal Avenue past Exmouth Rugby Club and along the grassed area until you get to the end where you will see the slipway. You do not need to bring e-mailed tickets to this event, to avoid paper waste.

Please note that we will be going out on the estuary sand flats to collect litter, so be very careful that you don’t get stuck in the muddy areas, which are indicated on the attached map and will be highlighted on the day. If there are any vulnerable people attending or anyone with special requirements, please make yourselves known to me before we head out on the clean-up. Due to the nature of the activity it is likely to be inappropriate for volunteers with certain disabilities to participate. If you have a disability and would like to participate, please get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate you.
