HEATH WEEK 2026: CELEBRATING WILDLIFE
Heritage and People on the Pebblebed Heaths National Nature Reserve Saturday 25th – Friday 31st July
Heath Week returns this summer with a vibrant programme of events celebrating the rare wildlife, rich history and unique landscapes of Pebblebed Heaths National Nature Reserve — one of Europe’s rarest habitats. Building on the success of previous years, the week-long festival will once again bring together the Pebblebed Heaths Conservation Trust, South East Devon Wildlife, Devon Wildlife Trust, RSPB South West and Devon Loves Dogs, alongside many other partners, to showcase the importance of this nationally significant heathland.
Activities will include guided walks, nightjar safaris, dog-friendly events, wildlife crafts, pond dipping sessions, and many more opportunities to learn about the habitats, species, and cultural heritage that make the Pebblebed Heaths so special. This year’s celebration continues the tradition of offering an accessible, community-focused programme, with almost all events free or by donation
The programme reflects the shared commitment of local organisations to inspire people of all ages to enjoy, understand and care for this extraordinary landscape. Heath Week is a chance to connect with nature and discover more about the ongoing work to protect and enhance this internationally rare heathland for future generations.
