Cygnet Theatre are popular visitors every summer, when they perform a classic play in Judith and Robin Telfer’s garden. But now they return to Lympstone on Sat 4th February, bringing a modern play to the Village Hall at 7.30pm.
Airswimming by the award-winning playwright Charlotte Jones tells the story of Persephone and Dora, who meet in St Dymphna’s Hospital for the criminally insane in 1924. Neither of them quite knows why they are there, and why their families won’t let them come out! What have they done – apart from bearing illegitimate children? As they search for meaning in their lives, Doris Day, the patron saint of all that is wholesome, perfect and feminine becomes their guide and saviour. Don’t miss this life affirming, musicaltragical-comical delight!
