Alan will talk about his journey and the paintings he completed when he accompanied explorer, David Hempleman-Adams, on an expedition to Mount Everest. Alan sketched constantly along the way and from this he was able to create a thrilling series of works of Everest charting different times of day and reflecting dramatic changes in weather. Using a painting knife exclusively, Alan produced bold views of this awe-inspiring mountain with a deftness and variety of handling that transforms the picturesque into the dramatic. His soaring views are painted in immediately tangible strokes, using dazzling contrasts of colour.
This talk will be held in the Function Room at the Village Hall 7.30pm Entrance £3 for visitors, free to members.
