Talk: The River’s Voice, Ray Balkwill

THE RIVER’S VOICE – Ray Balkwill – Saturday 22 April, 7,30pm (Doors open 7pm)

Exmouth author and painter Ray Balkwill describes his passion for his native county as ‘running as deep as the red earth itself’. The evening provides a fascinating insight into the artist’s personal and physical relationship with the landscape, in particular his love affair with the Exe Estuary, spanning four decades.

He not only describes his working methods in a wide variety of media, but also shares fascinating, and humorous stories associated with the river. As an Academician of the South West Academy his words and paintings have carried the grandeur of the region far and wide, and the evening will appeal to all those who are equally passionate about art, history & the river.
