Traffic Count in Lympstone

July 27, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 8:00 pm

Traffic Count in Lympstone all day!
There were many comments made at the Neighbourhood Plan Village Meeting earlier this year about the amount of traffic in the village and the concerns about parking. The Parish Council has agreed that surveys be carried out to provide accurate information for evaluation by the Getting Around Group, a group of concerned residents and councillors quantifying the current traffic situation, seeking solutions followed up by consulting with the residents.

Can you volunteer to help with a village traffic count?
Please support your village community by offering to help for a 2 hour session. We need approximately 50 volunteers working in pairs on Tuesday 23rd and Saturday 27th July, to formally count traffic entering and exiting the village.
Please email your availability to the count co-ordinator, Neil Downes at neildownes1@talktalk.net by Wednesday 10th July. A brief training session will be held, details to follow. No previous experience is needed!

All counts will be undertaken from off road positions and where possible will be carried out from a car parked off the highway to allow for wet weather.
Traffic Count Surveys
We would like to count traffic entering and leaving the village on a term-time weekday and a Saturday starting at 7am for 12 hours at 4 locations:
Nutwell Road
Meeting Lane
Longmeadow Road
Courtlands Lane .
Counted traffic will be counted in 7 classes of vehicles/cycles and pedestrians.
Parking survey
A survey of the number of off and on road parking spaces is also being undertaken
Can you help your village by counting !
