VILLAGE LONG TABL: We’re planning a party and you’re all invited!
A village long table event is in planning for Saturday 3rd July 2027.
The intention is to close the Strand and bring in 85 tables, allowing you to sit and feast together with your families, friends and neighbours in the summer air. This will be a not-for-profit event and we hope to make it accessible to everyone, young and old.
A table for 6 will be £36 (covering the cost of closing the road, insurance, table hire, licence etc.) and will be sold on a first come, first served basis in the village centre in April – watch out for more information on that date. Once your table is booked, all you have to do is bring along your own chairs, table decor, food and drinks. Tables will be set up from 11am /12 noon and you will be able to set your table from 2pm onwards.
Pre-dinner drinks will start from 4pm and feasting from 5pm. We will be in touch with local businesses to see how they might add to the party…
We are also hoping there will be wandering minstrel style entertainment so if you would like your chance to shine, we’d love to hear from you, whatever your talent.
