Burst sewer pipe; Tankers in the village

Burst sewer pipe; Tankers in the village
Message from a South West Water spokesperson
I can confirm that the tankering that has been witnessed is in connection with a burst that occurred yesterday evening on the pumped sewer from Underhill Sewage Pumping Station on Lympstone Foreshore and as such South West Water were required to shut down the pump station. As a result of this tankers are required until this is repaired.

Although our teams are working as quickly as possible this shall be a difficult repair and is likely to continue over the weekend. Should you have any concerns relating to this matter please contact SWW’s 24 hour operational helpline on 0344 346 2020.

Note from Phil Corcos: Given the probability of congestion in the car park due to tanker traffic, I have asked that SWW open the top car park again during the period of the sewer repair works.
