New seals were fitted to the threshold on the Flood Gates recently. The work was scheduled as part of the routine inspection and maintenance programme planned by the Environment Agency, and carried out by A & T. As well as this, the Environment Agency works closely with our Estuary team of Flood Wardens, alerting them of any potential risk from very high tides that necessitate the gates being closed.
