Our January Friday film is True Grit (our first western), made by the renowned Coen brothers. As one reviewer noted, it’s ‘one of the most crowd-pleasing films I think the Coens have ever made, accessible, simple, mythic and finally beautiful’. We’re screening it at the village hall on Friday 13th January – bar opens at 6.45pm; film starts at 7.45pm. Free to members or £5 on the door for non-members.
The Tuesday matinee on 24th January is Rebel Without a Cause. Come and remember teenage rebellion 1950s style in this classic. 2pm at the Methodist Hall.
