Underhill Car Park/SWW works Update 1

Underhill Car Park/SWW works Update 1

Progress to date

Following the site set up the existing services have been plotted and the existing tanks (SWW and EA) have been surveyed for a record of condition.
the specialist contractors are mobilising to site and excavation for the guide collar has begun. We have hit the water table earlier than anticipated and have had to move delivery of the de-watering equipment forward, this is now on site however this will have run off generators until the mains electrical supply can be upgraded.
There will be a deliveries of concrete next week to form the guide collar, once this is in place the deep excavation can begin. We will have to run with 6 m3
lorries, due to the access issues, which will mean frequent trips to the site and parking restrictions will be in place.
A large tracked crane will also be delivered to site towards the end of next week or early W/C 4 September, again parking restrictions will be in place for the movement.
An information board near the site will provide updates of the works as things progress.

The planned lining works and manhole rebuilds are complete, the system will be monitored over the winter to check for further infiltration.
