Village shop under new management

Long-standing store owners Ken and Mary Williams, who acquired the village butcher’s shop in 1981, saw a great opportunity to expand when the Co-op store next door ceased trading in November 2000.

They bought the store, with the help of investment from the villagers, and quickly went about combining the two retail shops and the brand new Londis convenience store opened in March 2001. Having successfully built the business up, providing an essential service to Lympstone, and having thoroughly enjoyed their time in the village they have reluctantly taken the decision to retire. There were a few tearful eyes on completion day when Ken and Mary handed over to the new owners, Xiota Retail.  We wish Ken and Mary well and thank them for their hard work over the years.
