As a way of marking The Big Draw Festival which runs nationwide throughout October, I will be running a Life Drawing day in Lympstone.

This is suitable for all levels of ability including those who have never attempted figurative drawing. You will get the chance to try out a range of techniques in a relaxed setting using exercises that are more about research and experimentation than achieving a masterpiece!

The day will start with short poses that encourage a spontaneous approach and a range of mark making exercises. Those who just want to use it as a chance to draw from a model un-tutored, are welcome too.

Our model will be Iona, who has just graduated from Exeter and is studying Community Dance in Cardiff so the poses will be dynamic and initially based on dance movements. After lunch there will be a long pose where I will be providing guidance on simple methods of establishing scale and proportion.

Some materials will be provided but please bring a roll of wall paper lining. More details about this on enquiry.
