Property Marking

Property Marking

On the 9th July the Neighbourhood Policing team for Lympstone attended the Sailing Club and carried out a crime prevention event.  This was a chance for residents to have their boats, boat equipment and other items property marked for free by the police.  Residents were then encouraged to register their equipment with www.immobilise.com.  We recommend that all serial numbers, identifying marks and the location of where the property has been marked is recorded on this site along with any photographs and is absolutely free.  Boat Theft and Theft of equipment does occurred in this area and the Police are keen to work with the public to stop these thefts.  The event was a huge success and there was a fantastic turn out with a large number of items being property marked. This is a clear message to thieves not to call, as the property is now traceable and owners are taking positives steps to prevent crime.   The Neighbourhood Police team will be carrying out a similar event in October, date to be confirmed,  and would advise residents to take up this opportunity.  Thanks to the Sailing Club for supporting this event.

If you see any person or vehicle acting suspiciously in the area, please contact Police immediately.
