On Sunday 13th September, more than 40 happy cyclists, supported by 12 or more friends to cheer them off, gathered on Burgmanns Hill for coffee and cake before taking on the challenge of a cycle in support of their chosen cancer charities. We even had a runner, who ran the 12 miles to Starcross as part of his 1/2 marathon training, a great effort. There was a choice of two routes, either the flatter Exe trail route to Starcross and return, or a hill route of 35 miles which took in both Haldon and Mamhead.
The cyclists ranged in age from 4 to over 80, with abilities varying from local commuting to cycling across continents but none of that mattered on the day, everyone had a fun and sociable ride out together with group visits to a number of pub gardens on the return journey – well it was a hot day and everyone had worked very hard! Huge thanks to every single person who came along in whatever capacity and contributed to the day. We had help serving coffee, helpers meeting and greeting everyone, Mary Turner and Brian Mather kindly taking photographs and a video as a record of the day for everyone (see QR code link). We are equally grateful to those who were unable to attend but made a donation nonetheless.

Thank you all for making this such a successful community event by taking on the challenge and supporting charities.
