MATCH &CURRY LUNCH
FoLPC is a registered charity set up almost 40 years ago that raises funds to ensure that the oldest building in Lympstone stays in good repair. The charity raises funds through various events through the year including the annual village Cricket match at St. Peters school, the annual Curry lunch at the Village Hall, an interesting evening lecture and a joint concert with the Lympstone Academy Brass. The largest single fundraiser is the monthly lottery.
FoLPC is independent of any religious affiliation and plays no part on the day to day running costs of the Church, deliberately structured to avoid any religious requirement from its members and donors. Over the past four decades around £65,000 has been raised to contribute to major projects including re-roofing of the Church, repair of the tower’s stonework, repairing windows and the conservation of memorial plaques,. At the end of 2025, a £5,600 contribution was made to the Church for re-pointing external stone and brickwork. Annual running costs of the church are approximately £83,000, borne by the regular congregation, so the contribution to repairs and maintenance by FoLPC is invaluable. Maintaining the church building in good condition allows it to be used by the whole community. Aside from the obvious services, weddings, baptisms and funerals, the church is also a warm, safe space for community events such as the weekly Friday Tick Tock children’s club and multiple other village events including the Christmas Tree festival, Lympstone Entertainments concerts and others.
Monthly Lottery
At this time of the year you can help support the physical upkeep of Lympstone Church and also be in with a chance of winning one of 12 monthly prizes in the annual Lottery from March to April each year. Tickets cost £10.00 and enter you into each monthly draw for the whole year; each month the owner of the winning ticket receives a prize of £50.00.
FoLPC’s dedicated and friendly team of 15 volunteer lottery ticket sellers start selling in March ready for the new lottery year and have or will be knocking on your door shortly. So buy a ticket (or several!) and give yourself a chance of winning. Your generous participation means funds can be continue to be raised to help with maintenance of the fabric of the building. Annual General Meeting – Cricket Match – Curry Lunch
A few dates for your diary; the AGM of FoLPC will be held at the rear of the Church from 11am onwards on Sunday 26th April 2026.
The date for the annual Village Cricket match has been set for 6pm on Tuesday 23rd June 2026 at St. Peters school with the wonderful view down over the Exe; expect a BBQ, bar, raffle, sweepstake; bring a rug or chair and enjoy a lovely summers evening.
The Curry Lunch this year will be on Sunday 11th October 2026 at the Village Hall.
