With December 2025 behind us, I would like to take the opportunity to express my gratitude to everyone who helped make Lympstone Advent Calendar such a popular event for its 6th year running. Special thanks to the 30 families and individuals who created the advent windows and garden displays for us all to enjoy; to the school, church and local businesses for helping to distribute the maps; to Sue Mildenhall for creating the map each year and the Community Hub for funding its printing.
We had a Christmas Tree Festival, choir singing, films and lights in the church. Thanks to so many who may not have been on the map but nonetheless lit up their houses and gardens, making the whole village look magical. There were parties for window ‘openings’ and one especially large crowd plus the folk band on Greenhill Avenue when ITV News West Country attended – all good fun! Additionally, almost £300 was raised for Cancer Research through your generous donations to the Lego window on Jackson Meadow and over £350 was donated to Hospiscare at Estuary Cottage on the Strand.
Finally, thanks to everyone who viewed the windows – an appreciative audience makes it all worthwhile!
