Lympstone Community Hub Update

Lympstone Community Hub Update

The Hub is supporting a number of initiatives over the Advent period up to Christmas. We hope that many of these will continue to be carried out, despite the current lockdown procedures that will be in place until 2 December.

Community Lunches

The Hub financially supports volunteers who are providing free monthly 2 course Sunday lunches to those in our community who are vulnerable or living in isolation. The next lunch will be on Sunday 22 November. If you would like to be part of this initiative, or know of anyone else who would benefit, please get in touch with Linda Lyon on malcandlinda@aol.com

Christmas Community Lunch

There will also be a Christmas Community Lunch on Sunday 20 December where we will provide :-

Turkey with all the trimmings

Christmas pudding

Christmas cake

Mince pies

A ‘goody bag’ from Santa

As we will be providing a more substantial meal and presents, we will be asking for donations up to £5 for this. If you are interested, please get in touch with Linda.

Bags of Love

Along with Social Services and the Parish Church, we have agreed to provide at least 100 ‘Bags of Love’ containing

Christmas presents for disadvantaged children of local families. We are asking our community to donate presents or money towards this. Hopefully we will be able to set up a ‘Wish List’ on Amazon in the next couple of weeks so that donations can be made remotely. Social Services are currently identifying the gender and ages of the intended recipients. Further information will be available soon on the Lympstone website and Notice Boards. Lympstone Pre-school have agreed to provide Christmas cards, drawn by the children, for each bag.
