JULY 2025
Over the first half of the year Lympstone Village Hall continued to be busy with our regular hirers, multiple birthday parties as well as hosting several highly successful community events such as the annual Art Exhibition and more recently the spectacular Primary School Pantomime.
Fallen Tree
Other than our busy hall schedule we did have a bit of a scare toward the end of spring when during a storm a large tree blew down narrowly missing the outdoor gazebo at the back of the hall. Thanks must go to a couple of “Friends of the Village Hall” who came to the rescue reducing the tree to logs and mending the damaged wooden fence.
New Equipment
As always, our Maintenance Manager Miles has been very active fitting in regular maintenance schedules between bookings and undertaking several projects both large and small. A significant enhancement to our
facilities has been the installation of a new glass washer in the bar and a new dishwasher in the kitchen. Again, thanks to the helpers who assisted with those installations. Those of you who use the kitchen for food preparation will be pleased to note that the ovens (which can be temperamental at the most inconvenient times) are soon to be replaced.
New Recruits Wanted
Finally, I’d like to put out a call for anyone interested in supporting a significant community asset by joining the team of Village Hall Trustees. Two of our current team are retiring from their positions and as with any organisation succession planning is essential. Should you be one of Lympstone’s community-oriented individuals then please contact: chair@lympstonevillagehall.org. Should you wish to discuss what the role of a
Trustee is then call 07824 344 376.
