It’s time to get your entry in for the Gardening for Wildlife Award.
If you visited the Art Exhibition in June, you may have seen the beautiful trophies that have been made for us by three local artists, who worked collaboratively to bring their individual skills to these unique pieces. The winner of the Children’s Challenge and the winner of the Adult Award will each take one of these amazing trophies home to enjoy until next year’s competition.
What do you need to do? It’s easy…
You just need to tell us about a change you have made to your Lympstone garden, and the impact it has had on wildlife. It may be a small change like planting a pot full of flowers for pollinators, creating a herb garden, putting water out for the birds and the bees, or trying ‘No Mow May’ and ‘Let it Bloom June’. It could be a bigger project that you started last year like making a wildlife pond, planting a native tree or hedge, or leaving a ‘wild’ corner in your garden – projects like this can take more time to develop.
Email wildaboutlympstone@gmail.com for details, and we will send you the full criteria. If your entry can’t be sent by email, just let us know as soon as you can, and we can arrange something with you. Judging will be by a panel (Countryfile-calendar-style).
The deadline for entries is 6pm on 31st July.
