The Methodist Hall is a much valued community facility in the village, used over the years by many varied groups. Earlier this year is was registered as a Community Asset. This gives the community a chance to raise the funds to purchase the hall before it is placed on the open market. The Community has until the end of March to make an offer for the building.
A Public Meeting was held on the 15 December where there was unanimous support to pursue the purchase of the Hall. The Parish Council has already taken steps to raise money to buy the Hall but more involvement from the wider parish community is needed.
It was agreed at the public meeting to establish a Friends of the Methodist Hall group. Please contact Helen Dimond at dimond@hdimond.plus.com if you are interested in helping set up this group. People with experience of crowdfunding would be particularly welcome! Subject to the Covid situation a further meeting is to be held on Wednesday 12 January at 7.30pm in the Village Hall to report on progress.
