When the VE 75th Anniversary Celebrations proposed for May were cancelled, we were anticipating that some of the planned events would be able to take place over the weekend of 15/16 August. This is the 75th Anniversary of VJ Day.
However, although the Village Hall has been able to open its doors again, after reviewing all the restrictions that would be imposed (reduced numbers, social distancing, no refreshments and no live entertainment) we have decided against organising any Community events for the near future. As a lot of preparation has already been completed for VE Day, we hope to be able to move this event to sometime in the future, perhaps next year.
Once the Coronavirus restrictions allow, we also anticipate being able to put on some other Community Hub sponsored events. We will keep you updated in the next Herald (available from mid-September) and by posting details on the Lympstone Website and Notice Boards.
