A new initiative for 2026, In order to encourage our village to become increasingly wildlife friendly we are introducing a Wild About Lympstone “Gardening for Wildlife” Award.
This is designed to sit alongside the Devon Wildlife Trust’s ‘Wildlife Garden Awards’ which a few villagers have already obtained. Even small changes can have a big impact, so prizes will be given to those creating the most impactful changes. You may have already started your project, or may be starting a little later in the year. Even if you don’t have a garden you can still make a difference for wildlife with small tubs or window planters. You can find plenty of ideas on the DWT website, especially on the Gardening for Wildlife award pages.
Awards will be presented at the Garden Club’s Annual Show in August 2026.There will be an adult award and an under 16s award. We hope you will be inspired to enter and do something new for wildlife in your garden. Big or small, all changes can have a big impact, and we look forward to hearing about the changes you have made and the impact they have had.
We hope you get a chance to come along and see all the Christmas trees on display in the church all week from Monday 1st December. We hope you enjoy our interpretation of a tree in winter, and find some inspiration from the quotes we have included.
