YOUR VILLAGE HALL NEEDS YOU!

YOUR VILLAGE HALL NEEDS YOU!

Now that the Methodist Hall has been sold, it is clear that the recent high demand for the hall’s facilities is unlikely to be temporary. We are planning some long-term improvements that will increase availability to groups and societies. We are about to start the creation of a tennis clubhouse, which will provide a dedicated space for Lympstone Tennis Club and free up the Meeting Room for other hirers.

The village hall is bursting at the seams, and we want to raise funds in order to improve the hall building itself, as well as the external spaces. We have two major regular hirers: the school and the nursery, which both serve the local community. The vast majority of other hires are for the direct benefit of villagers (classes, events, exhibitions, parties, etc.); the special village hire arrangements are subsidised by those few outside hirers who pay commercial rates for the use of the hall. The proposed Community Access Project to provide level access and improve safety between the tennis court and the building will need significant funding to make it a reality. The other improvements, which are becoming increasingly more necessary, are to replace the ovens, improve the kitchen ventilation and refurbish the bar area to make it more adaptable.

Do you have fundraising experience?  We would love the help of someone with fundraising experience to identify and apply to suitable funding sources for our current projects. This would be a voluntary role.

Bookings coordinator vacancy
We are also planning to recruit a Bookings Coordinator to replace the wonderful, indefatigable Caron, who is standing down at the end of April 2023 after 4 years in the role; this is a part-time paid role with flexible working hours.

If you are interested in either the paid or voluntary role, please email:
